G. Brown slags off Deniers as Flat Earthers

"Mr Brown ( UKs useless and unelected Prime Monster ) last night insisted that the science on climate change in settled, and accused those who question the consensus of being outdated."
The very day after the BBC expanded the public debate about the e-mail content which shows that the science is most certainly not settled, what a cunt.

Daily Telegraph Sat Dec 5th Brown: Skeptics are flat-earthers

"He said: "With only days to go before Copenhagen we mustn't be distracted by the behind-the-times, anti-science, flat-earth climate sceptics. We know the science. We know what we must do.”
What 'we must do Mr. Brown' is fuck off and seek a proper mandate from the people before signing us up to vastly expensive rubbish schemes to make your banker pals even more wealthy with even more of our cash.

( To re-assure my American readers, Mr. Brown has what is known as The Jonah Effect, everything he touches, visits or champions turns to shite so this is probably another nail in the coffin of manmadeglobalwarming. ps, buy Nokia shares ).

"Announcing a review of the case, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), said the matter could not be “brushed under the carpet”. "

Let's make sure it isn't !

Here is the saintly Simon Heffer trying to get Dave and the tory gang on-side ( makes for much pleasanter reading )

At last people are telling David Cameron that his bunny-hugging has the potential to cause extreme economic and political damage, writes Simon Heffer.

Every time he opens his fucking mouth, shit comes out - let's hope he keeps spouting copious amounts of it until MMGW is Jonah'd to death!

Does this sound like smear to you? It does to me.

Thus, we may conclude, that Brown knows climate change is a crock and will try anything in his dirty fucking arsenal of tricks to try to persuade us of the lie.

Just watched the last part of Newswatch on BBC 24 and a couple of viewers were berating the BBC for it's woefull coverage of Climategate. It seems the BBC trust board of directors set policy and the specifically discussed their coverage of it. The blogosphere was mentioned. Wish I'd saw it all now.

Keep pushing on this lads and lasses.

As a climate sceptic based on much study of the available evidence, to be told I am "a Flat Earther" by a man who:

- sold our gold for a pittance
- allowed lending to balloon out of control
- bungled the bank bailout
- lied over Iraq
- underfunded our armed forces for a decade as Chancellor
- caused the 10p tax U turn
- fiddled his expenses
- couldnt decide if he would go to the country or not
- reneged on his promise of a referendum on the EU Constitution
- shamefully signed the Lisbon (ie Constitutional) treaty in a back room by himself
- intemperately throws office equipment at his staff
- can't even write a properly spelt condolence letter

fills me with pride. This very day I shall make myself a "Flat Earther" badge which I shall wear proudly.

For when someone as consistently wrong on every major decision he has taken criticises me, I know I've won the arguement.

This climate change thing. They claim that cows farting is a major contribution. But what about America when it was undiscovered. Didn't millions of bison roam the plains? Didn't they fart and shit and generally carry on? Similarly Africa before we went raping and pillaging, wasn't that strewn with millions of farting antelopes and shitting elephants galore? Surely to christ, with species on the brink of extinction, there must be less fart about now than there used to be? Or have my Flat Earth tendencies misled my logic?

So are folks here saying climate change is a hoax or that there is no evidence that human's are causing global warming due to carbon emissions? Personally I believe both. What I don't believe is that summits are anything other than political grand standing or that carbon taxes are anything other than a taxpayer ripoff.

But the earth is warming, the glaciers are melting, and shit does happen whether we want to believe it or not.

John R said...

Yes, the earth is warming - remember we're still exiting the last Ice Age. It will carry on warming whatever we do. I'd be amazed if it didnt.

The question is not about warming per se, but does the emission of CO2 have any additional effect? Just because two lines on a graph go in the same direction does not mean they are related. Correlation does not imply causation.

For over 20 years the scientific community (or at least those who werent too busy "hiding the decline") has been trying to find a solid, evidence based process to link CO2 changes to temperature without success. Just shouting ever more loudly that "the sky is falling" is no substitute for proper reseach and theory.

This is why some of us are sceptics, we dont beleive the "science is settled" because it clearly isnt. To show the lack of consensus 30,000 US scientists with over 9,000 PhDs between them are currently suing Al Gore on this basis.

He must be REALLY pissed by news that the U.K. MET Office are going to re-examine 160 years of data:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/article6945445.ece

Is he going to call them "flat earthers" as well?

@ scunnert - This whole "Global Warming" bollocks has overshadowed the chance of sensible, constructive debate on the damage that Man is undoubtedly doing.

Climate Change IS REAL - it's been going on for millions of years, without any intervention by us. Whether the claimed recent rises are due to our lifestyle is another matter. The events of the past couple of weeks have cast a huge doubt over that.

We clearly can't carry on the way we are, but "Carbon Taxes" are not the answer, merely another way for the majority of us to ripped of by the few.

CO2 makes up .3% of the atmosphere - make your own mind up.

All funding is based on research, there must be subjects to research and the bigger and better the cataclysmic prophecies, the more research needs to be done - make your own mind up.

Statistics can be bent to support anything you want - make your own mind up.

Our Government and others have discovered a tax for something that is alleged to be cataclysmic and will not let it go - make your own mind up.

Banned for fuck's sake, never mind climate change. Imagine waking up beside that fucking ugly protester after a night on the bevvy. Christ almighty, that would melt your glaciers, fucking sharpish!

And to drive a coach and horses through 50 years of CO2 data gathered at the Mauna Loa Observatory have a look at this:

Given that the base data is suspect to start with, never mind the corruptions caused by the actions of the Climategate folks, surely at the very ;east it's time to stop the bandwagon for long enough to have a good hard look at what's really happening?

BS, I expect that Mr. Brown will deliver a whale sized portion of Jonahism to CO2penhagen.

Edgar Brown, Miliband and the rest of the evil crew know that they are on a loser and are trying every last trick to screw the country up before they lose the next election. Mandy seems strangely quiet on the subject, probably in the hopes of being elevated to Lord Apollo, Duke Of The Western Shores & Athelney

TheBigYin I don't watch telly but it would be interesting to detect bias in the way that the Beeb selects its audiences. To be fair their radio coverage yesterday did allow a fair few naysayers but they all had somewhat pronounced rural accents ( know what I mean ? ).

John R Welcome and thank you for that succinct tally of Browns major failings and your conclusion that to be denounced by such a man can only be an honour.

Blind Pugh As you say, North America was one great shiteosphere before we wiped out the giant beasties and as someone else pointed out to the "we must be vegan" crowd; 'what about the undrained rice growing paddyfields of Asia that release vast amounts of methane all year round. Anyone suggesting do without rice for a day to save the planet?'

scunnert Few deny that climate change is real, it has been a natural phenomenon for since whenever. The argument is how much of the recent change is man-made, is current change important and what can we do about it anyway, if indeed anything?

May I refer you to yesterdays excellent Telegraph blog by Charles Moore where he reviews X-Chancellor Nigel Lawsons 'admirably short' book on the subject

Nigel Lawson on climate change: 'Saving' the planet will be the real disaster

In which he points out from the IPCCs own data
"even if you accept the IPCC predictions, look what happens. The IPCC says that world temperature will increase by 2100 by somewhere between 3.2F and 7.2F. A warming of half way between these two points works out at an average temperature increase of 0.05 degrees F per year. In the last 25 years of the past century, temperature increased at the rate of 0.04 degrees per year. (In this century, it has not increased at all!) Has this proved so appalling to manage?

Lord Lawson then notes that the IPCC predicts that, at this level of temperature rise, global food production will actually increase. He takes the IPCC's gloomiest prediction of the economic effects of global warming over the same period. By its own figures, the difference between what would happen with global warming and without it amounts to this: in a hundred years' time, people in the developed world would be "only 2.6 times better off than they are today, instead of 2.7 times, and their contemporaries in the developing world would be "only" 8.5 times as well off as people in the developing world are today, instead of 9.5 times better off".

So this is the projected catastrophe
".

microdave You can be sure that the Met Office review and publication of its data is intended to overwhelm the opposition with the sheer weight of material and kick the debate into the long grass for three years or so.
"We cannot possibly comment until the re-evaluation has been completed" sort of thing.

HeadsOnPoles Too true, they have found another belief system to replace discredited communism/socialism that not only gets myopic support from 'environmentalists', lazy trendies, feminists and do-gooders of all persuasions but also funds-seeking academics, lazy eco-journalists, politicians with nothing to say and commercial companies jumping on the bandwaggon and they can tax it too ! Manna from fucking heaven.

As for the "bunny-hugging" There better not be any of that going on, I"ll have to slap someone, fresh!

Dark Lochnagar That would have to be some very desperate fucking night out as that is surely a bloke ? ( might be wrong ) Not only that s/he looks like an escaped lecturer from the London School Of Economics who would bore you shitless before the foreplay.

John R, Thank you for your continued informed observations which are most welcome on this usually light-hearted blog. Some have taken this tone of mine to be sarcastic. It is not and my thanks and regard for your input are wholly sincere, please visit again should the mood take you.

Blind Pugh who gives a fuck what The Inependent thinks, apart from those, admittedly pretty, girls all woaded up in blue at yesterdays pathetically attended ActOnCO2 demo in London and eleswere.
