Odd, last week they told us to expect a 50% chance of hotter weather than usual next year, or 50% cooler ? Is that what I pay them for ? fifty-fucking-fifty ?
Back to their excitement inducing words at Copenhagen
"forecast for 2010 predicted it will be almost 1F (0.6C) higher than the long term average of 57F (14C) across the globe as a result of natural weather patterns and global warming. "
However sceptics point out that the Met Office said 2007 would be the warmest on record, but it was not in the top five. The weather service also drew criticism for claiming this year’s wet summer would be a “BBQ” summer."
ps, I nicked the above pic from the Met Office site, right click 'save as' to see what they call it.
Met Office predict hottest year ever, like they always do http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/copenhagen-climate-change-confe/6780685/Copenhagen-climate-conference-Met-Office-predict-2010-will-be-warmest-on-record.html
2009 BBQ summer, cancelled
You can still see the original Met Office press release here

Frankly I'm surprised they haven't pulled that page given the embarrasment it has caused them.
Meanwhile 1,700 science whores have signed a petition pledging allegience to the Met Offices position on AGW, thus discounting any claim to scientific independence.
Act On CO2. It's all just an act. G.O.T.

While it may be true the planet is warming and it may also be true that it is nasty humans who cause it, what knobs me off is the fact it has very quickly turned into a money-spinner. And who will benefit from the billions being talked about and promised by the UK and the EU? Not us plebs, that's for fucking sure. The money will end up in many, many anonymous Swiss bank accounts for the delectation of our great and good leaders. If and when the planet bursts into flames, they'll all be safe in their bunkers. We'll be the ones left to burn.
Grasping, greedy, conniving climatecunts.
So it's predicted to be 1ºF warmer "as a result of natural weather patterns and global warming." What percentage does this break down to? It could be another 50/50, or 90/10 - who knows.....
It may even be due to the 1.2 megawatts of power used to run the Met Office's supercomputer - the same machine which predicted the "BBQ Summer"!
Hi Banned! I took that quiz on the PJTV site too. It's great they are devoting attention front and center to ClimateGate. G.O.T.'s vid is great....and OH link you sent me.
I just read and saw this upon waking!
I tweeted it, the story is on Gateway Pundit

We must be getting to them...wonder who paid for the "Hitler Youth" to invade this Event, Lord Monckton is very mad about it!
Mr Pugh, George Soros is in todays online Telegraph reminding us that to pay for all this we will have to borrow the money...
From China !
microwdave, yup the third crap summer in a row that they got wrong and entirely failed to predict our rather splendid Indian summer that lasted almost 2 months.
Bunni. Just off to check the vid, sounds like the usual totalitarian bolloxs as practised by facists, commies of various persuasions, military dictators, religious theocrats and absolute monarchs; they all use the same tactics.
The good news is that somewhere along the line they feel the need to start denouncing and then eating each other.
It's not 1,700 - its 1,699 whores and a spineless twat.
Who was the bloke who signed the letter and then told The Times he was forced to. Talk about managing to piss off both camps.

No NO-ONE will be talking to him at the office Christmas Party.
Someone had a list of all the signatories, broken down by organisation with the numbers of each. Rather unsurprisingly the Met Office made up almost a third...
Have a look at this section of their website:

Note the disclaimer at the top:

ASE, well if you're going to split hairs, I'm going to piss off ( as the actress said tothe Bishop.
MD, could not make that link work but got as far as
Met Office, statement from the UK science community
Note the "The UK science community" like their is just one and they are it.
Strange - I've just copy/pasted my link from your comments, and it works in both Firefox & IE8. Try going to the main site:

Then select "Media" >> "News" >> "In the news". You should get a rolling list of external sites.
Thanks for providing links to these conflicting reports. It's been obvious to anyone paying attention for years now that the "science" is retro-fitted to the agenda. I can not understand why anyone still champions this shoddy cause.
I wonder if these 'scientists' have figured out yet that their credibility on anything related to reading a thermometer has completely gone to hell.
I wouldn't trust their opinion on the time of day. If they can't read a thermometer, how could anyone expect them to look at a watch and come up with something like an accurate time?
Or, more likely, they would lie about the time, trying to convince you it's bed time at noon, then they can go through your pant pockets looking for your wallet after your head hits the pillow.
