The London Science Museum declares Global Warming "Is bollox", revising the contents of its new climate science gallery to reflect the wave of scepticism that has engulfed the issue in recent months.
The decision by the 100-year-old London museum reveals how deeply scientific institutions have been shaken by the public’s reaction to revelations of malpractice by climate scientists.
The museum had intended to call it the Climate Change Gallery, but has decided to change this to Climate Science Gallery to avoid being accused of presuming that emissions would change the temperature.
"Last October the museum launched a temporary exhibition called “Prove It! All the evidence you need to believe in climate change". Which, some bloggers will recall, had an interactive poll allowing folk to pledge support for Global Warming, or not, as their Poll found out. We told them it was bollox, and hey, guess what. The Science Museum has taken it on board. Yay another victory
“The Science Museum will not state a position on whether or not climate change is real, driven by humans or threatening.”
The London Times, "Science Museum Says AGW Is Probably Bollox"
So this bastion of real science, the font of knowledge for countless generations of schoolchildren, including me, has seen the light.
(Sorry for the lack of any further insight or illuminating pics and vids but I have personal issues at this time).

The Red Zone of the Natural History Museum is a great place for information about changes to the sea level and climate of the planet. They've recently updated their displays but they still clearly show that the current global conditions are within accepted historical tolerances.
I've got some photos on a camera somewhere ... ... ..
I'm sure I voted on that poll, so a small feeling of smug satisfaction....
Well they are not saying AGW is not happening, just taking a more neutral position. I am definitely not a sceptic but would agree that the research is ongoing, nothing is proven beyond doubt, and the climate change model is not as simplistic as "CO2 in - warming out". The recent scandal has shaken the public's belief in AGW - yes - but you only have to use your eyes and common sense to appreciate the climate is changing and scientists working all over the planet strongly suspect that anthropogenic factors are playing a part in this.
I definitely voted on that poll! What's the smilie for 'smug'..?
It's a HOAX, HOAX, HOAX ! To say any less is admitting one is a sheeple.
Hi manwiddicombe A public spat between the Science Museum and the Natural History would be fun. I have precious memories of both though I understand that each are now somewhat more interactive and 'accessable'.
microdave and JuliaM Congratulations on voting, heartwarming feelings of smug satisfaction are well deseserved, we can make a difference people!
CambridgeLady Welcome to my blog. Politically we would appear to be somewhat at odds but I see that you like like interesting films and we would probably have fun swapping music CDs. I welcome contrary viewpoints so you may be assured of a courteous response on any future visits.
What the Science Museum is deftly doing is giving the lie to Al
Gores ridiculous "the science is settled" on which assumption he and his evil cronies in the fake carbon offset credits scam sought to make a great deal of money on the back of "Green Taxes". Fortunatly the markets will tell and they have; that for carbon has tanked, either closed for corruption or just hit rock bottom. My heart bleeds.
I am yet to be convinced either way about AWG but I can spot a thief, conman and lier a mile away.
Woodie "Baaa!"
Personal issues? You mean you needed a dump and didn't have time?
Hi Banned - Thank you - and you will always receive a courteous response at my blog too - in fact I have just finished typing one :o)
I am no fan of Al Gore ....... and I am not 100% convinced by AGW, though there is definitely warming occurring but this could be part of the natural cycle. If AGW is proven to be a reality - and there are many scientists worldwide who think it is real - then there should be more creative/technological ways to deal with the problem than simply taxing the issue away! I do think it will need people to work cooperatively and be prepared to modify their lifestyles - which is unthinkable to many. I also think the climate change debate is distracting us from dealing with other world issues such as peak oil and resource depletion.
Banned has suffered a family beavement and will not be blogging for a short while.
No flowers, ta. Donations to R.N.L.I.
So sorry for your loss.
Take care.
Excellent news, banned. Could it be that they were always sceptical but were under pressure like other institutions to pretend that they supported AGW?
I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Banned. Condolences to you and yours.
Banned, thoughts and kindest regards.
