coincidences

1)Chinese "human trafficking" their crooks? I was chatting with a (black) Malawian postgrad Civil Engineering student, he told me that the Chinese were winning many civil engineering contracts in his country including the construction of their new Parliament building. He added that the construction crews were Chinese, convicted Chinese criminals and that at the end of their sentence they were set free as 'citizens' of Malawi. Apart from this reminding me of Britains former policy of Transportation to the colonies for felons, for which we are supposed to feel so much remorse, my interlocutor added that "The Government might say these Chinese are citizens but naturally the people don't". Now where have I heard that argument before?
This was all new to yours truly Banned and I was duly appalled but
Coincidentally I later found myself talking to a fully qualified English professional Civil Engineer who confirmed that it was well known that the Chinese have been doing this for years in Central Asia and Angola and that the working conditions of the criminals were akin to Americas Chain Gangs or Soviet Gulags.

2) I declined to renew my membership of the RAC because because they wanted to charge me 60% more than last year (for using their service once, just to help change a wheel at the roadside). 4 days later I got a TEXT advert from the AA offering me their services. I am not a text ad spam monkey and have only ever had one before. (For my burgeoning American readership the RAC and AA are the two major UK companies that assist motorists in the event of a breakdown or accident).
Coincidence? I don't think so.

3) A sort of friend was telling me the other day about being threatened by her local 'friendly reassuring uniformed presence on the street' PCSO goon with an instant fine and an Anti-Social Behaviour Order
(US = Police Civilian Support Officer) for the crime of allowing her infant son to play in the street and "Criminally Damage" it by chalking on it during his play. I told her it was rubbish and to ignore him.
I coincidentally later mentioned this to an academic lawyer of my aquaintance who suggested that it was "bollox" making up the law as he goes along and that, if she had the strength and inner resources, she should go to the CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) to which I concurred, plus also an appeal to our local MP who, though a fully fledged Marxist member of the former EX-socialsist regime has a remarkably good record of helping private citizens, especially if it is against "The Council".

We have "civilian" code enforcement officers that patrol the streets in our city. We had one knock on our door last year about something. That guy had a British accent...I wonder if he was a former PCSO, ha, ha.

Hi CL. We do a fine line in exporting Policemen but they tend to be the better ones who can't stand the PC crap in this country but any PCSOs you come across will be our cast offs, so yes! He probably was.

If I ever had a PCSO goon try and pin something like that on me (unlikely, as I'm not one for playing hopscotch) I would demand he informs me exactly which law (chapter & verse) I'm supposed to be breaking. Can't answer? Then FCUK OFF....

MD, That's the thing about PCSOs and Anti-Social Behaviour, they think that it is up to them to define what "ASB" is regardless of statute; they depend upon the unwillingness of their victim to challenge them in court and the risk of a much more substantial fine + costs + £15.00 Victim Surcharge and thus coughing up the thirty quid even if it means going hungry for a few days.

I would say it's more a case of the majority not knowing how little powers these clowns really have. Even a "proper" copper can't make up the law (although many of them try).

The local paper regularly advertises the time and place of the "Safer Neighbourhood Team" meetings - the nearest one to me is manned by a single PCSO. I wouldn't waste my time going there to piss on his boots....

WOW, we need to get the socialists out of office before our country gets this bad.

Woodie, I hope that you all took the opportunity to start rolling the tide back yesterday with your midterms but you really do need the Tes Party to keep the Republicans on-message.
Note how Cameron is able to use his wishy washy Liberal allies to ignore the 'right' of his party and thus betray proper Tory principles.

His administration has become as addicted to spin and lies as the last lot even if they are laughably see-thru!

Banned, fun should mention you should mention that. I had a flat tyre and I phoned the RAC. Well the next thing a AA van appeared and a gang of Chinese criminals got out the back. While they were changing my wheel, this cheeky fucker in a traffic warden's uniform, came up and gave me some lip about causing an obstruction. Well, I sent him away with a flea in his ear, because just at that my MP happened to be passing and he told him to fuck off!

DL, you have said that sometime you think that I am you, this clearly confirms your suspicions.

I've noticed that most all these civilian type volunteers are just jackboot wannabe's who try to enforce any "power" that they can. I would tell them to pee off!

It was some good news this week on Tues, to be sure!
I hope the (r)'s stop the commie agenda, Banned.
Have a super weekend.

Hi Bunni, yes congrats to the Tea Party!
The PCSOs are not volunteers, they are former traffic wardens or people who failed to join the Police Force because of being rubbish.
They are UnterPolice supposed to provide a "reassuring uniformed presence on the street" to the elderly and vulnerable but,as in my example are being bullies to achieve their ASBO targets.

Last week I was driving down a quite country lane by a well known up-market foodie pub and there were three of them (this in the middle of nowhere) pointing some sort of camcorder at me
; dunno if they were checking speeding, phone driving, company car smoking, car tax or felatio drivingbut they were certainly not doing whatit says on the tin.

(Anyway, they didn't catch me).
