Child Benefits abolished!

Yes, I know that they haven't but three times today I have been involved in conversations with different people based on the premise that "they have scrapped Child Benefits".
Along the lines of "I didernt like the bujit, 'ow come they scrapped me child bennyfits?"

Me "No, they haven't scrapped them, they have frozen them"
"Same diffrence innit?"
Three times I explained the difference between frozen and scrapped and they seemed quite pleased since they were relatively better off than before our conversations.

What struck me is that the Coalition have let this idea take root and also that there was no bitterness from my interloculators, just the dull acceptance of their lot.

Breast Is Best.

"Campaigners" admit defeat in their efforts to mindfuck women into not using bottled milk for their newborns. Their promotion of "Breast Is Best" has backfired in that women who see the phrase assume that breast feeding is some sort of new age modern fandangle and that they would rather do the normal, standard thing which must therefore be bottle/formula feeding, LOLs; had to laught at that one.

A Department of Health spokesman said in a statement that ''breast is best'' was not its slogan (ROTFL).

NASA predicting power grids could overheat and air travel severely disrupted in 2013 while electronic items, navigation devices and major satellites could stop working. In a new warning, Nasa said a solar super storm would hit like “a bolt of lightning” and cause catastrophic consequences for the world’s health, emergency services and national security. It could damage everything from hospital equipment, banking systems and air traffic control devices, through to “everyday” items such as home computers, iPods and Sat Navs.

Unlikely? What he means is that, just like the Y2K scare story and Climate Change, it is all bollox, just NASA trying to big itself up to get more Federal funding, in any case we all know that the end of the world is coming in 2012.

Punishing Deniers

I don't deny the Holocaust, though I might question the numbers, perhaps it was even worse than the law in various countries say it was but that makes me a criminal in their eyes.
Just as real scientists insist that everything is open to question (eg Climate Change) so real historians know that history is never 'settled' as new information and interpretations come along.
The problem with using the law to decide the history of the Holocaust is that that tendancy was always going to spread and so it has.

Hungary, that brave and friendly republic in Central Europe, has passed a bill equating Communist era crimes to the Holocaust and banned denying it under threat of imprisonment. Those denying, casting doubts on, or depreciating the crimes committed by the Communist regime will be facing from one to three years behind bars.

Apart from the problems that will give to the many surviving members of the former Communist regime, many of whom still believe that regime to have been positive, what next might be on the list?
Colonialism perhaps, or that every aspect of Slavery was the fault of Europeans and it's not just history; Climate Change skeptics have long been called "deniers" and many would like that to become a criminal offence, the evil EU already has laws forbiding bringing that sorry institution into disrepute.
Perhaps Mr. Cameron would consider a new law forbidding the denial that Labour governments always run out of other peoples money.

My initial doubts about criminalising a view of history that goes against the orthodox opinion have been vindicated and it can only get worse.

With the Miliband camp already split between brothers Dave (centrist Centre) Miliband & Ed (anti-immigration Centre) Miliband the 'middle aged white guy' camp was already mired in controversy with the nomination of (extreme Centre) Ed Balls before Burnham (moderate Centre) nailed the last nail in the coffin of the "white middle aged centre guy" hopefulls.

With the guilty support of one of the Milibands and Party GroupenFuhrer Harman D.Abbot now seems certain to win and thus be Labours next offering to the British Public as Prime Minister.
