Righteous, the new guilty

Having come for smokers, drinkers, motorists, home schoolers and lardy arses the Righteous now have another group in their sights.
Gardeners, you are the new eco-criminals.
UK Daily Telegraph (small item, no archive)
"Dr. Geoff Dixon, University Of Strathclyde's Senior Research Fellow in Horticulture said "Green lawns would become symbols of social and moral decadence because of climate change and population growth"

So there we have it, license from Academia for the eco-loons to launch sabotage attacks on green lawns and herbaceous borders throughout the land. "Grassing up" your neighbour will have a whole new meaning.

Diane Abbott, Hackney MP

Leading bidder for the Labour Party.

Stitched up like a kipper by BBC Labour Luvvie Andrew Neil.

"Andrew, Ive got nothing more to say". Ad infinitum

""For years Abbott, Michael Portillo and host Andrew Neil have chummed away together in the studio once a week. Now with Abbott running for Labour leader, Andrew Neil has turned the full, brilliant, glare of his scrutiny on his fellow star. The look of shock on Abbott’s face – as he fired unfriendly questions at her – was simply wonderful to behold."

Child Benefits abolished!

Yes, I know that they haven't but three times today I have been involved in conversations with different people based on the premise that "they have scrapped Child Benefits".
Along the lines of "I didernt like the bujit, 'ow come they scrapped me child bennyfits?"

Me "No, they haven't scrapped them, they have frozen them"
"Same diffrence innit?"
Three times I explained the difference between frozen and scrapped and they seemed quite pleased since they were relatively better off than before our conversations.

What struck me is that the Coalition have let this idea take root and also that there was no bitterness from my interloculators, just the dull acceptance of their lot.

Breast Is Best.

"Campaigners" admit defeat in their efforts to mindfuck women into not using bottled milk for their newborns. Their promotion of "Breast Is Best" has backfired in that women who see the phrase assume that breast feeding is some sort of new age modern fandangle and that they would rather do the normal, standard thing which must therefore be bottle/formula feeding, LOLs; had to laught at that one.

UK Telegraph, Breast Is Best

"Lesley Backhouse, chair of The Breastfeeding Network, has written to the Department of Health, calling for a change of approach.

''We've got to knock breastfeeding off this pedestal,'' she said.

''It seems to play straight into the formula manufacturer's hands by encouraging the view that formula is the normal way to feed a baby"

A Department of Health spokesman said in a statement that ''breast is best'' was not its slogan (ROTFL).

They think it's all over...

NASA predicting power grids could overheat and air travel severely disrupted in 2013 while electronic items, navigation devices and major satellites could stop working. In a new warning, Nasa said a solar super storm would hit like “a bolt of lightning” and cause catastrophic consequences for the world’s health, emergency services and national security. It could damage everything from hospital equipment, banking systems and air traffic control devices, through to “everyday” items such as home computers, iPods and Sat Navs.

It's the end of the world, don't panic!

Dr Richard Fisher, the director of Nasa's Heliophysics division, said "large swathes of the world could face being without power for several months, although he admitted that was unlikely".

Unlikely? What he means is that, just like the Y2K scare story and Climate Change, it is all bollox, just NASA trying to big itself up to get more Federal funding, in any case we all know that the end of the world is coming in 2012.
(And if you click on the vid in the Telegraph link above, it's been there since April so hardly 'news' anyway).

Punishing Deniers

I don't deny the Holocaust, though I might question the numbers, perhaps it was even worse than the law in various countries say it was but that makes me a criminal in their eyes.
Just as real scientists insist that everything is open to question (eg Climate Change) so real historians know that history is never 'settled' as new information and interpretations come along.
The problem with using the law to decide the history of the Holocaust is that that tendancy was always going to spread and so it has.

Hungary, that brave and friendly republic in Central Europe, has passed a bill equating Communist era crimes to the Holocaust and banned denying it under threat of imprisonment. Those denying, casting doubts on, or depreciating the crimes committed by the Communist regime will be facing from one to three years behind bars.

Russia Today, Communist Crimes Denial equates to Holocaust Denial

Apart from the problems that will give to the many surviving members of the former Communist regime, many of whom still believe that regime to have been positive, what next might be on the list?
Colonialism perhaps, or that every aspect of Slavery was the fault of Europeans and it's not just history; Climate Change skeptics have long been called "deniers" and many would like that to become a criminal offence, the evil EU already has laws forbiding bringing that sorry institution into disrepute.
Perhaps Mr. Cameron would consider a new law forbidding the denial that Labour governments always run out of other peoples money.

My initial doubts about criminalising a view of history that goes against the orthodox opinion have been vindicated and it can only get worse.

Burnham splits Centrist vote, shock. Abbot Win!

The late nomination of Andy Burnham seems certain to split the 'middle aged white guy' centrist bloc leaving the field wide open for dark horse unknown leftist extremist D.Abbot to romp home in the Labour leadership contest.

With the Miliband camp already split between brothers Dave (centrist Centre) Miliband & Ed (anti-immigration Centre) Miliband the 'middle aged white guy' camp was already mired in controversy with the nomination of (extreme Centre) Ed Balls before Burnham (moderate Centre) nailed the last nail in the coffin of the "white middle aged centre guy" hopefulls.

With the guilty support of one of the Milibands and Party GroupenFuhrer Harman D.Abbot now seems certain to win and thus be Labours next offering to the British Public as Prime Minister.

Reminder, Dianne Abott (C)rap song. Democratic propaganda in action.

Bilderbergers exposed in MSM

UK Daily Telegraph exposes Bilderberg New World Order Secret Government meeting in Sitges, Spain

"I have just discovered that a shadowy cabal of global luminaries, including Henry Kissinger, David Rockefeller, Prince Charles, Peter Mandelson, Lord Carrington, David Cameron, Queen Beatrix of Holland and the chairman of Barclays Bank, have been plotting to overthrow national governments and form a fascist one-world empire...these puppet-masters made and broke the career of Margaret Thatcher, triggered the downfall of Slobodan Milosevic and, this year, are planning to bomb Iran." writes Iain Hollingshead.

Bilderberg meeting Sitges 2010

Wow, hefty stuff coming from the UKs major broadsheet newspaper and online news scource but in reality the piece is about slagging off 'conspiracy theorists' as 'loonies'.
"Dan Brown aside, conspiracy theories don’t come much bigger than this."

"(Bilderbergers) network, eat, drink, play golf and go home again."

"...invent lurid theories that this covert liberal / Zionist / fascist (delete as appropriate) empire can trace its string-pulling roots back 800 years to the Venetian Black Nobility?"

"... conspiracy theorists ..."

"None of this has stopped the loons..."

"Some people theorise that they want to kill off half the world; others believe they’re directing the world’s finances."

Hollingshead does make one good point towards the end "Can an organisation that invited Ed Balls in 2007 seriously be pulling the strings of world power?"
